Urban horticulture
The goal of this programe is to train specialists in a very unique and high potential working field, merging knowledge from different disciplines related to horticulture, landscape, ecology and social sciences. UH tackle the climate change in urban areas through nature-base solutions and ecosystem services by connecting urban blue-green infrastructures in a visionary urban governance. Rethinking urban green spaces the programe is targeting the quality of life within urban areas with public participation and community engagement by highlighting the role of nature in human health and well-being. The interdisciplinarity approach helps to integrate succesful growth of the plants such as ornamental, vegetables, fruit trees, wines in urban ecosystem transforming the urban farming in a social, educational and recreational benefit with environmental justice for sustainable development.
